(Artificial) Migrant Intelligence

This artistic project delves into the parallels between migrant adaptation strategies and machine learning, exploring an artistic language that bridges the two.

As an artist, I am accustomed to observing the reality around me. As a migrant, I’ve learned that this practice is driven by both natural curiosity and the need to fit in. When reflecting on AI’s attempts to simulate dance.

I notice similarities between my experiences and those of AI; both depend on imitation, simulation, learning, and adaptation. AI-generated images of distorted human forms often fail to capture dance accurately, yet they convey aesthetic ideals emphasizing unattainable perfection. These distortions metaphorically reflect my efforts to navigate societal conventions, where I sometimes focus on unnecessary details while missing crucial ones.

The theme of unattainable perfection and its distorted outcomes will be the central agenda of this project. In line with the recent movie Substance, which explores the drama of unrealistic expectations of the female body and its potential consequences, this project will investigate the artistic language and aesthetic solutions surrounding the migrant integration process.
